👩‍⚕️ Do early-career health trajectories among hospital-employed nurses and midwives differ from those of workers in other industries?

That is the question we set out to investigate in a new study, now published in Communications Health (Nature Portfolio) and one of the papers included in my PhD thesis. Our findings suggest that the first years of a hospital career are where there is most to gain if we want to expand the labour supply of hospital nurses and midwives in a sustainable way.

👩‍⚕️ Protecting healthcare workers starts with understanding what works 👨‍⚕️

I am very pleased to share our new article published in BMC Health Economics Review. The study is a part of a large mixed-methods evaluation of a multilevel hospital intervention to prevent and manage the adverse consequences of emotionally demanding work. Key findings: No measurable overall effect on healthcare costs, but subgroup analyses suggest heterogeneous effects across staff groups, including indications of cost-reducing effects on mental healthcare costs among nurses and on general practitioner-related costs among doctors.

🚀 New funding for sustainable hospital workforce research

I'm very pleased to share that Helsefonden has awarded new funding to support my ongoing research project on a sustainable hospital workforce. This grant enables the project to expand and further deepen its analyses of working time arrangements in hospital settings.
